It's No Bake and Connor Helped!!

Watch out Emeril!!!!

We are having such a good time with Connor here. To be only two years old the boy eats like a 5 year old. So we are constantly having to rustle up something for him. Like any two year old cookies are always a big hit. He loves to help in the kitchen. Even when he was much younger he has a fascination with brooms, sweeping, and vacuuming. Which is working out well for me since my floors have not had any attention for some time. Anyway I thought it would be fun to make some No Bake cookies with Connor. This recipe has been around a long time and has been a favorite in my family forever. My little brother and I used to make them and eat the whole batch in one sitting. My kids loved them and now it looks like my daughter has passed that love on to Connor because he was all about making some cookies. Isn't he adorable in his little apron? He walks around the house yelling "BAM". Which is good as he has a fondness for yelling at times. He is all boy - when he is not in the kitchen with his Gigi making something real good. I am sure everyone has this recipe but just in case I am including it. Make a batch with someone you love, for someone you love or make them for yourself and enjoy every last one!

No-Bake Cookies
2 C. sugar
1/2 C milk
1/4 C. cocoa
1/4 c butter
Mix ingredients in a large saucepan and put on medium heat, stirring until it starts to boil. boil 1 minute, remove from heat and cool 1 minute. Add:
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
3 C. quick oats
1/2 C peanut butter
Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Cool and enjoy!

Wonder

My first grandpeep is here for the week and we are so excited. This picture reminds me why. Everything he sees thrills him to pieces. Doesn't matter if it is a lizard, or the dead crawfish he watched his Gigi get out of the pool last night (he thinks I am a superhero, that will only last until PawPaw pulls out the mow-mow). But he is in awe of all things and when he is here we all tend to see things through his eyes. The beauty in the little things. What a lovely reminder to count blessings and take joy in the simple things.
I would love to write more but there is face pressed on my patio door announcing his need for "patty cakes".

Reality Check

Vacation is over and reality is back. Aargh! School begins in only three weeks and I have yet to move my stuff to the new school. I like to think I am not a procrastinator but everything points to the fact that I am. Oh well, I will work on that tomorrow. The beach was a great respite from our hectic lives. Graham was so good and such fun. We are planning an all family get together at a big beach house for next summer when everyone can be there.

I have a precious friend who just retired after thirty-three years of teaching. She has a beautiful new granddaughter she has big plans for spoiling. She found out last week she has breast cancer. Life can be so hard sometimes. Enjoy every moment with your families. For now, here are some of my favorite pics from the beach.

Excellent Beach Adventure Part 2

Yesterday was a beautiful day at the beach. We stayed out all day and it was great. Today it is raining but we are all hoping it will blow over. We saw a gorgeous rainbow this morning and were reminded no matter what the day brings our good God is in control. The first pic here is what my sweet man and I watched yesterday morning. We aren't where we can see the sun come up but we enjoyed the beauty God made for us anyway. We both just marveled at the enormity of the water and were reminded just how small we are in the world, yet at the same time how vastly important we are to our Lord.

This is how Grahambo enjoyed the beach - from his little baby cabana. He gets his own stuff.

He even had tummy time on the beach!

Savannah sends a message to our sweet Connor. We can't wait to be at the beach with him.

This is how we stayed all the day. With our chairs in the surf and the water splashing us. It was wonderful.

Then we all got pretty for dinner at the Oyster House. Excellent food. We ate like pigs. No surprise there.
Got this great pic of Aunt Savannah and Graham giggling.

We are always saying how Graham and his Daddy make the same face and I finally got it on camera last night. Aren't they adorable? Jeremy is such a sweet Daddy. I love these boys.

Now we are all enjoying our coffee and hoping the storm passes. Jon and Jeremy are supposed to leave on a deep sea fishing trip at noon. They have been so excited about it I hope it doesn't rain them out. They do too because then they have to take us girls to the outlet mall!

Excellent Beach Adventure Part 1

We left at about 6:45 this morning packed up like the Bossier Hillbillies going to Gulf Shores!
Graham stayed this happy the whole way. He has never traveled this far and he was so so good.
Savannah is beside herself to be at the beach.

Our view from our balcony at the condo.

This is how Graham watches out of the window. How sweet!

Graham thinks the couch feels soft and won't share.

A beach beauty.

Turned beach bozo.

Graham and his daddy like the water. Aunt Savannah is trying the boogie board in the background.

Please, please Gigi, no more pictures today!

Neglect

I have been neglecting my blog in a major way. I am sure my three followers have been unable to function! Our business has been super busy and I have been working like a crazy woman, but....... VACATION IS WEDNESDAY! Whoo Hoo. We are going to the beach with our son, daughter-in-law and Grahambo. Can't wait. I heart the beach and plan on posting pics every day. Wish our other kids and Connor were going with us. We are working on getting up a beach house for all of us for next year.
See you from the beach!
